Well Wishes

Dick reports: Randy Bledsoe had a major blockage in his carotid artery, but, had to wait for surgery because he had a 2 inch blood clot that had to be dissolved first. The surgery went well and as well as I can tell he is back to 100% Randy. Well wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Thanks to Dick Cartwright and Sid Vicars for the following:

Randy Bledsoe (fresh out of ICU) and Betsy, Maynard Ketron and Joyce, Stan Bledsoe and Jenny, Daniel Gibson and Jan, Dick Cartwright and Susie, and Rayford Dingus went to Winnsboro for the usual treat. There are, no doubt, bigger, more prestigious shows, but never a better show. We were treated to the usual Sam Edenfield Hospitality, enjoyed by us and the rest of the Carolina gang. Great food and great music. The weather was magnificent. I don't care how many cars are at a show, I just count how many friends were there. I feel sorry for the people who go to the megashows and don't know anybody. Winnsboro is family. Plan to attend the best car show you'll ever experience next year.

Rayford Dingus’ Little Red Corvette took a top 25 award at Winnsboro.

Don Hughes new garage has been initiated, so to speak. Don's 70's Chevy pickup had it['s tired 350 removed from service, and replaced with a fresh 383 stroker engine built by fellow club member Doug Phillips. Don, Doug, and Mark Warner (and possibly others) performed the transplant in Don's new garage without getting the floor messy, which had Don worried. The swap was said to be relatively straight forward with only the required number of parts problems which were quickly solved. Don reports the 383 is quite an improvement over the tired old soldier still doing its best.

Pam and Les Lawson are rumored to have traded their Subaru for a new black on black Camaro with an excess of 400HP.

The Weber City Napa show this past weekend had well over a hundred cars, with only a few KARC members in attendance.  We think a group of club members attended the show, flea market in Lenoir NC., which was on the same date.

Rumor has it, that Mark Warner is planning to paint his recently purchased 41 Chevy Coupe, color--re-sale red.

Mikel Smith reports an unusual problem with a Vintage Air system.  The AC was mysteriously shutting down.  Mike talked with Vintage Air tech department, and they reported if the system sees less than 10 volts or more than 16 volts, the system ECU will shut the entire system down.  Mike found a voltage problem with said vehicle, corrected the voltage issue, and AC went back to normal.
