Maynard Ketron is continuing to improve from his stroke, he and I agreed, he might not get back to normal, but maybe he will get back like he used to be.

After a setback caused by infection Buckshot is doing better, is wearing a walking boot and able to put some weight on his new ankle.

Let's continue to keep these and all of our brothers with different mothers in our thoughts and prayers.

Years ago, when Bruce Roberts was building his Chrysler wagon, he took the heads to a local machine shop and told them to do whatever was needed to refurbish the heads. Since the car has been on the road it has had an intermittent valve clatter. Bruce pulled the heads and found broken valve stem seals, unnecessary stem seals on the exhausts, guides that were not only too long but also worn, and improperly cut valve seats. He has also sent his transmission back to Gearstar for repairs. We try to buy and use the very best and it still comes back to bite us.

Charlie Ball has freshened up the engine Norman Davis took out of his Cutlass, and is ready to put in his '37, until he can rebuild that engine. The engine has been fired in a test stand, has good oil pressure and sounds great.

David Baker has torn down his '68 Volkswagen, the cylinders and heads had been replaced with good parts, but the engine just didn't "feel right". Apparently, the engine had dropped a valve and the person patchinayg it didn't split the case, leaving the remains of the shattered piston in the crankcase, pretty much destroying the internals.

Team Ball, Vicars and Cartwright did some adjusting on Kathy's '63 Chevy II's engine and shift linkage. She took it for a test drive Tuesday.  All smiles.

Randy Bledsoe has repaired the top motor, the wipers, and the A/C on his trusty Cutlass convertible and is now ready for whatever whenever.

Stan and Jenny Bledsoe, Randy and Betsy Bledsoe, Daniel and Jan Gibson, and Rayford Dingus went on a stay in the car trip to Pigeonburg Stan's '55 Ford tin Woodie lost power. After three roadside caucuses, the coil was replaced, and the fuel filter was blown out. Stan says it came the rest of the way home without missing a beat.

The get together at my (Dick's) shop on Thursday the 14th is not a club function. It is an opportunity for those who feel safe venturing out to get together. As Keith mentioned earlier, we will get together 4ish. Stop by your favorite fast food store on the way out and bring your burger and your favorite beverage, also BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIR. There is ample room for social distancing at the shop.

To get here go past Tri-Cities Airport and Northeast State on Highway 75 toward Blountville turn right on Muddy Creek Road, go 1.5 miles on Muddy Creek to Brown Circle, the shop is on the corner. There will be a blue Volkswagen in the yard. If you need further directions call 323 7777.
